STATION was established in July 2011 with an interest in engaging contemporary practices. The Melbourne-based gallery represents a select stable of Australian and New Zealand-born and Internationally based contemporary artists whose practices range from painting and sculpture, to spatial practice, video and photography.
Providing significant and diverse exhibitions from represented artists, the gallery also punctuates its programming with solo and curated group exhibitions that explore the works of new practitioners’ within its modernist gallery spaces. This allows the gallery to be flexible within the contemporary climate, whilst extending its discourse to a larger scope.
STATION’s artists have been embraced locally and internationally in an array of exhibitions and institutions, including: The 56th International Exhibition of la Biennale di Venezia; The Biennale of Sydney; Melbourne Now; International Biennale for Young Art, Moscow; Museu Picasso, Barcelona; TarraWarra Biennial, Healesville, Victoria; Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art, Brisbane; Edinburgh Art Festival; Centre Pompidou, Paris; and the Australian Centre of Contemporary Art, Melbourne.
