Aotearoa Art Fair, Aotearoa New Zealand’s premier event for contemporary art, will take place from 18 – 21 April 2024 at the Viaduct Events Centre, Auckland.

VENUE

The 2024 Aotearoa Art Fair will be held at a new venue, the state-of-the-art Viaduct Events Centre. Nestled in the Wynyard Quarter of Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, the Centre boasts an unrivalled waterfront location, and has an array of exceptional restaurants, cafes, bars, and hotels within walking distance.

GETTING TO THE FAIR

Wynyard Crossing Bridge

The Wynyard Crossing Bridge connecting Quay Street to Wynyard Quarter where the Viaduct Events Centre is located, is closed for maintenance until late 2024. We have provided additional transport options to accomodate visitors to and from the Fair.

By Golf Cart

Courtesy golf carts will run around Viaduct Harbour between Quay Street and Viaduct Events Centre between Thursday 18 April –  Sunday 21 April during Fair hours.

By Courtesy Shuttle

A courtesy shuttle bus will run between Eastern Viaduct (near the Maritime Museum) and the Viaduct Events Centre betweem Thursday 18 – Sunday 21 April during Fair hours. The shuttle runs on a continuous loop so will be at the Eastern Viaduct and Viaduct Events Centre every 15-20 minutes.

By Bus

In addition, Auckland Transport offer the City Link Bus public bus which picks up passengers from Britomart, Downtown Ferry Terminal and Queen Street every 7 minutes. This bus stops at Wynyard Quarter which is a 8 minute walk from the Viaduct Events Centre. Auckland Transport journey planner is an online tool that will help plan your visit.  Simply put in your start and end destination and then view your choices.

By Foot

The Viaduct Events Centre is a 15 minutes walk from Quay Street, around the picturesque Viaduct Harbour.

By Ferry

The Downtown Ferry Terminal is a short walk from the Viaduct Events Centre. Ferries arrive at this terminal from destinations across the Waitematā harbour and Hauraki Gulf. For timetables and further information please see Fullers Ferry or Island Direct Ferry.

By Train

Britomart Transport Centre is located at 8/10 Queens Street. Viaduct Events Centre is a 22 minute walk from the Queen Street exit of the station. Britomart is Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland’s public transport hub and all train lines converge here. For times and routes please see the AT Transport website.

Parking

The nearest car park building is located on Halsey Street in the Wynyard Carpark. Accessible car parking is available in the Jellicoe Street Carpark at the end closest to Silo Park, subject to availability.

ACCESS

The Viaduct Events Centre is fully accessible, with entry available at the main doors, an elevator serving all floors, and an accessible toilet on the ground floor. For any specific accessibility queries, please feel free to email us at hello@artfair.co.nz.
