Andy Leleisi’uao lives in Auckland and in 2000 he was the first recipient of AUT School of Art and Design Pasifika Scholarship, gaining a Master of Fine Arts with Honours in 2002.
Astutely observant and unapologetic, Leleisi’uao’s social discourse manifests itself in a distinct painting style. His narratives are packed with detail, central to his commentary is how, we, as human beings, relate to each other.
His work is included in the permanent collections of Pataka Museum and Art Gallery, the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, the Auckland Art Gallery, the Chartwell Collection, and the James Wallace Arts Trust collection.
Andy is represented by Bergman Gallery, Rarotonga; Milford Gallery, Dunedin and PG Gallery 192, Christchurch.
In 2017, Leleisi’uao won the annual James Wallace Arts Trust Paramount Award.
