Grace Wright (b. 1992, New Zealand) uses colour as a key component in her work. The young painter graduated from Elam with Honours in 2014 and has since been the subject of multiple solo and group exhibitions throughout the country, gaining a remarkable reputation in the process. Her style is loose yet controlled, with an emphasis on contrast that makes her pieces uniformly strong, commanding and dramatic. Recently she has been developing ideas around the pleasure of viewing and taking it from looking to experiencing. At the Auckland Art Fair 2018, Grace Wright presents three new large-scale paintings.
