Robyn Kahukiwa needs little introduction as one of the foremost Maori artists in New Zealand. Te Papa museum hold 23 Kahukiwa works in their collection and the Auckland Art Gallery have several major works, including the recently purchased “Nga Ti Puna”, Kahukiwa’s most major canvas to date.
A significant career highlight was Kahukiwa’s inclusion in the major exhibition “Five MaoriPainters” at the Auckland Art Gallery, 2014, and “Wahine Waitangi” which toured New Zealand in 2016 and 2017.
Robyn Kahukiwa has established a strong connection between art and politics, augmenting the current Maori cultural renaissance. Kahukiwa has a considerable interest in connecting with the Maori community and specifically with the rangitahi (young Maori people) through her work.
The Auckland Art Fair presents an opportunity for collectors to acquire recent works by this acclaimed New Zealand artist.
