Bekah Carran

Bekah Carran was born in Wanganui, 1976 (Te Ati Awa/Taranaki).

She received a BFA from Otago Polytechnic School of Art in 1998, was the Olivia Spencer Bower Artist-in-Residence in 2003 and The Physics Room Artist-in-Residence in 2007.

Exhibition highlights include: ‘The Archivists’, The Sarjeant Gallery (2015), ‘Everyday Fiction’, Blumhardt Gallery, The Dowse Art Museum (2014), ‘Dawn in the new age, The Obs1nate Object’, City Gallery Wellington (2012), ‘I Remember Golden Light’, National Library, ‘One Day Sculpture’, Wellington (2009) and ‘Welcome home my beautiful optimist’, The Physics Room, Christchurch; Artspace, Auckland (2006)

Bekah lives and works in Dunedin on the Otago Peninsula.
