Over the last four decades Denys Watkins has become known for his innovative fluctuation between different artistic mediums. His process does not entail a dismissal of previous work, it is instead an expansion of art that has gone before. Watkins has been labelled many things throughout his career but to pigeonhole this artist into certain categories is to misconstrue the sublime alterity of his work. There is the suggestion of a message related to current social issues and deportment within his works, but it remains an undertone. An enigma like quality gives Watkins work its evocative power and draws in the viewer time and time again. He is represented by Bath Street Gallery.
