Established in 2011 in Melbourne, Australia, and newly opened in Sydney in 2019, STATION has an interest in engaging exciting and rigorous cross-disciplinary contemporary practices. We are dedicated to presenting a diverse, conceptually driven exhibition program, with the aim of fostering rigorous, critically engaged contemporary art practices.

STATION represents a broad stable of established and emerging Australian and international artists. Providing significant exhibitions from represented artists, our program is also punctuated by solo and curated group exhibitions that explore the works of artists outside of the gallery fold, allowing flexibility within the contemporary climate, whilst extending discourse to a larger audience.

STATION creates exhibitions that sit within an international milieu to frame our artists within a larger global dialogue as well as expanding their positions nationally. STATION facilitates off-site exhibitions, publishes artist books and monographs and participates in art fairs.

STATION’s artists have been extensively presented locally and internationally in an array of exhibitions, biennales and institutions, including: Sydney Biennale, Australia; La Biennale di Venezia, IT; The Biennale de Montréal, CA; Berlin Biennale, DE; The Biennale of Sydney, AU; Triennial Kleinplastik, Fellback, DE; TarraWarra Biennial, Healesville, AU; Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art, Brisbane, AU; International Biennale for Young Art, Moscow, RU; Museu Picasso, Barcelona, ESP; Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, US; Museum Fridericianum, Kassel, DE; Museum of Modern Art, New York, US; Centre Pompidou, Paris, FR; Kunsthalle Wien, Vienna, AT; and the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, Melbourne, AU.
