34 years of high-level art world engagement underpins Trish Clark Gallery in New Zealand – representing noted international and New Zealand artists across a range of media and generations.
Trish Clark Gallery opened its central Auckland location at 1 Bowen Avenue in April 2014, marking 30 years since owner Trish Clark opened her original gallery in Auckland’s High Street. Then representing such artists as Gordon Walters, Milan Mrkusich, Billy Apple, Stephen Bambury and Julia Morison, Clark relinquished the gallery to allow her to raise her 3 children with flexibility, and turned to high-level art consultancy for 25 years, assisting leading private and corporate collectors, and establishing the New Zealand Moet & Chandon Art Foundation, which she directed for 9 years.
Now representing twenty seven artists, some senior figures in New Zealand art and others just emerging, Trish Clark Gallery has also introduced a number of renowned international artists to the Australasian region, including Anthony McCall and Alfredo Jaar. Clark complements works by gallery artists with curated guest artists/artworks in a programme of innovative exhibitions across a variety of media.
Alfredo Jaar’s first solo exhibition in a private gallery in Australasia is at the gallery concurrent with Auckland Art Fair.
