In 1988 the Warwick Henderson Gallery moved from Auckland city central to a new purpose built Gallery in Parnell and in November 2014 the Gallery moved to new premises in Newmarket. The Gallery specializes in fine contemporary and period New Zealand Art. We represent many prominent NZ artists including Robyn Kahukiwa, Mark Wooller, Rozi Demant, Viky Garden, Fatu Feu’u, Justin Summerton, Alexander Bartleet, Grace Wright, Chris Pole, Tyrone Layne Aaron Waghorn, Jessica Ellis, Rosanne Croucher, Rieko Woodford-Robinson, Amy Melchior, Karen Sewell, Robyn Gibson, Paul Kim and Haneui Kim.
The Gallery has mounted over 300 exhibitions including group and solo exhibitions and retrospectives by artists such as Trevor Moffitt, Dame Louise Henderson, Keith Patterson, Philippa Blair and Kase Jackson. The Gallery has also curated unique shows such as ‘The Toy in Art’, “’Naive Art’, ‘The Automobile in Art’ and Early NZ Photography.
The Gallery Director, Warwick Henderson has also curated two touring shows specifically for public institutions, the ‘Toy Show’ and the ‘Games Show’. The ‘Toy Show’ toured NZ public Institutions including the Auckland Museum for two years. Every year the Gallery exhibits a group show of Gallery and other leading NZ Artists and a catalogue of New Zealand Fine Art.
