Two Rooms presents a programme of leading international and New Zealand artists.
An important focus of the gallery is a residency program, supporting ambitious new projects and facilitating the exchange of ideas between New Zealand and international artists. This year’s Two Rooms artist-in-residence was leading British artist Sarah Lucas, who created a new body of work entitled NUZ SPIRIT OF EWE, currently on exhibition at Dunedin Public Art Gallery. Lucas donated 100 % of the proceeds from the sale of NUD CYCLADIC 1, which was purchased by a private patron, who then gifted the sculpture to the Christchurch Art Gallery collection.
At the Auckland Art Fair 2011, Two Rooms will exhibit new work created especially for the event by Sarah Lucas, Julia Morison, Stephen Bambury, Joyce Campbell, Fiona Pardington and Brett Graham. The gallery will also present works from Mark Adams, Cornelia Parker and Joachim Bandau.
