Fuelling up for the fair – a teaser of what’s to come

Monday, April 1, 2013

It’s all go here at the office, where we are flat stick mapping out the exhibitions, projects and programmes for our fifth biennial Auckland Art Fair, just over 3 months away, from 7-11 August at The Cloud.

The exhibitors and the keynote speaker will be announced in just a few weeks. While we can’t reveal the details just yet – we can tell you that this fair will present a line up of the most forward-looking galleries in the Antipodes and introduce a number of new faces – both local and Trans-Tasman.

Endless revisions of the floor plan have finally allowed us to pack more than 40 exhibitions, installations and projects, by NZ and Australia’s leading artists, into The Cloud. Some of them are – quite literally – swinging from the rafters. We’ve also appropriated space outside the fair and have several exciting projects taking place in front of the venue, on Queens Wharf, for the duration of the fair.

We are delighted to announce two very important new event hospitality partners: Alan Scott Winemakers based in Marlborough have joined us as our exclusive wine provider and visitors to the fair will be able to enjoy their quality wines at all of the event’s functions as well as in the Wine Bar upstairs, overlooking the harbour.

To keep us going through the day (and to counteract any over enthusiastic enjoyment of the Wine Bar) we also celebrate our new partnership with Caffe L’affare, the Wellington based coffee wizards, who will be fuelling the event with their skilled barristas and coffee stations strategically placed throughout the venue.

Remember: Early bird tickets go on sale on 1 June through iticket. We’ll let you know more details about tickets and collectors packages in the next enews.

Cheers from HQ.
