The plywood that formed the core of our branding in 2011 was inspired by the thousands of art crates that wing their way around the world every year to fairs, biennales and exhibitions, with their captivating contents.
This year, we wanted our crate to have its own sense of place – and what better place could there be than Auckland’s waterfront on a warm summer evening?
On the left is our new venue, The Cloud, serendipitously lit up for the occasion. The Art Fair crate radiates its own light and energy, suggesting that, like the Tardis, it’s bigger (and more exciting) on the inside.
Our theme for the fair, Be enlightened, encapsulates our hope that the fair will shed light on the at times obscure inner workings of the art world, and create a bright spot in the middle of an Auckland winter. Be enlightened is also a hint about themes emerging within the fair’s public programme and guest speakers. More surprises in store… Keep up to date: www.artfair.co.nz
Meantime, we thought we would share a few images of Arch and his energetic team at Inhouse (below Jane and Arch MacDonnell, Sarah Gladwell, and Dean Foster) setting up the shoot using his hot new toy, a Nikon D800.
