The NZ Contemporary Art Trust, the presenter of Auckland Art Fair and Art Week Auckland, announces two new additions to its board.
We are delighted to welcome our new Chairperson, Richard Scoular, who brings new governance and commercial skills to our board. Richard is an Auckland based partner at PwC New Zealand with a longstanding interest in contemporary art and is a patron of New Zealand at Venice.
“The visual arts are a vital part of what makes Auckland a vibrant and dynamic city and I welcome the opportunity to advance my interest in them with the Trust’s initiatives: Art Week and the Auckland Art Fair” Richard says of his new role.
A warm welcome to new board member, Dale Spencer who has recently returned to Auckland after five years in Melbourne. As Director of media360 and The Intermedia Group, Dale brings expertise in media, sponsorship and communications to the board as well as his experience on the board of Te Tuhi and Melbourne’s Midsumma Festival.
Richard and Dale join fellow trustees: Gary Langsford, Hilary Lewis, Dayle Mace, David Ross, Deborah White and Jennifer Buckley who are all active advocates for the visual arts in New Zealand.
Making way for these new members is the outgoing and founding Chair, Candis Craven ONZM, who steered the trust through its crucial formative stages, and Alex McDonald who provided wise counsel over the same period, and we thank them for their governance and leadership.
A final word of welcome to Veronica Lam, our new Board Secretary, and sincere thanks to Deborah White who has fulfilled that role for the past nine years.
We have great expectations for Auckland Art Fair 2015.
