Ten, nine, eight, seven…!

Friday, July 1, 2011

The last e-news before we start packing in for the fair – which is now fewer than 10 days away.

Our team of 18 builders and technicians is now in the daunting process of installing just under a kilometre of panel walls, covered in 400 litres of white paint and rigging for 162 lights.

On 1 August, 126 galleries and artists will start arriving in a fleet of trucks and courier vans and commence the hanging of an estimated 600 artworks by 200 artists. By the opening on Wednesday 3rd, the Viaduct Event Centre will be decked out in the finest contemporary art Australasia has to offer.

I hope you have spotted some of our outdoor media – posters and billboards around Auckland, Wellington and points in between.
By now you will already know about all the great galleries and artists you will find at this year’s fair. To augment the exhibitions, we launched an expanded Public Programme convened by Deborah White featuring artist talks and panel discussions by local and international artists and art commentators. A complete timetable is now downloadable from artfair.co.nz

Our Collectors Packages and Vernissage tickets have sold out. Tickets to the keynote lecture by Knight Landesman are close to capacity. If you haven’t already booked your tickets, get on to it now. Book at iticket.co.nz.

Below please find some final reminders about how to get there and where to stay if you are coming to Auckland especially for the fair.
Can’t wait to see you there!

Jennifer Buckley
Director – Auckland Art Fair
