APPLY NOW 2026
The Aotearoa Art Fair showcases leading galleries from across the Pacific Rim including New Zealand, Australia, Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands. It offers a comprehensive look at the remarkable diversity of the Asia-Pacific region. Through modern and contemporary works, the fair presents a wide range of artistic perspectives, highlighting both established and emerging artists in these fields.
Applications for the 2026 Aotearoa Art Fair are open to galleries with a strong exhibition history, presenting at least four shows annually in their own space, project venues, or other fairs. Presentations from artist run spaces and newly established galleries will also be considered. Applications are not accepted from individual artists. Selection is based on curatorial strength, quality of art, prior fair participation, and local or international projects. Proposals should showcase new work, solo or curated presentations, and exemplify contemporary practice. β
Decisions on admission are made by an independent selection committee, a panel of leading industry experts, with final decisions announced in November 2025. Artworks shown previously at art fairs are deemed not acceptable. Joint applications are welcome, however they must be made separately with each party signing the Terms and Conditions of each application document.
The Aotearoa Art Fair selection committee is made up of three industry experts: β
Kim Paton, Director of Objectspace since 2015, Natasha Conland, Senior Curator at Auckland Art Gallery, βand Kate Darrow, Curator of public art projects, a curatorial advisor at Waikato Hospital Art Trust and an art advisor.
