GALLERIES

Those staying in central Auckland, shouldn’t miss Auckland Art Gallery, Gow Langsford Gallery, Gus Fisher, and Season. From here, a short walk/bus ride or taxi will take you to Karangahape Road where a number of leading commercial galleries including Michael Lett, Starkwhite and Tim Melville. To experience the full spectrum of art in Tāmaki Makaurau, head out to West Auckland and visit public galleries McCahon House and Te Uru Waitākere Contemporary, or check out Vunilagi Vou in East Tāmaki.

ACTIVITIES

Explore shopping at Britomart and Commercial Bay, both of which features a collection of New Zealand fashion designers.

Viaduct Events Centre on Auckland’s waterfront is conveniently located just minutes from the Ferry Terminal. After you’ve perused the Fair, be sure to include a trip to Waiheke Island – just 40 minutes from downtown Auckland on the ferry, Waiheke Island features some of New Zealand’s best wineries, eateries and stunning beaches.

Extend your stay and further explore the region’s North with a visit to Matakana to visit Brick Bay Wine & Sculpture Trail.  Find 200 acres of boutique vineyard, an extensive outdoor sculpture trail, an architectural-award winning restaurant, in the midst of an idyllic landscape of farmed pasture and native bush.
