Gallery Applications

Apply Now 2027

Applications for the Aotearoa Art Fair, 6 – 9 May 2027, are now open.

Applications for the 2027 Aotearoa Art Fair are open to commercial galleries and artist run spaces, with a strong exhibition history, presenting at least four shows annually in their own space, project venues, or other fairs.

Selection is based on curatorial strength and vision, the calibre of their represented artists, and the quality and concept of their proposed presentation for the Aotearoa Art Fair 2027. Consideration is also given to the calibre of work, previous fair participation, and notable projects, undertaken by the gallery and its artist both nationally and internationally.

Applicants are encouraged to propose new and ambitious bodies of work, including curated solo presentations or ‘solo within group’ exhibitions that exemplify excellence in contemporary practice.

All applications are reviewed by the Aotearoa Art Fair Selection Committee, a panel of respected industry experts. The 2027 Selection Committee comprises of Natasha Conland (Senior Curator, Auckland Art Gallery), Kate Darrow (Curator, Public Art Projects), Kim Paton (Director, Objectspace) and Caroline Vercoe (Associate Professor of Art History, Associate Dean Pacific, Waipapa Taumata Rau The University of Auckland).

2027 Sculpture Trail

The Aotearoa Art Fair Sculpture Trail, presented by Viaduct Harbour, in association with Auckland Live is a month-long public outdoor exhibition staged across Auckland’s vibrant Viaduct Harbour in April and May to coincide with the Aotearoa Art Fair. Showcasing a dynamic selection of large-scale sculptural works, the Trail offers a unique platform for galleries to present significant works to new audiences in one of Auckland’s most iconic public settings.

We now invite galleries to submit proposals for the 2027 Aotearoa Art Fair Sculpture Trail.
