Join award-winning artist and photographer Mickey Smith for a talk about her body of work, Volume. The series documents bound periodicals and journals in public libraries. The books are not touched, artificially lit, or manipulated— rather created by the librarian and found in the stacks – positioned by the last anonymous reader. The focus is on simple, provocative titles, that through scale, transcend the spines on which they appear to create conceptual, anthropological works.

Listen to Katherine Throne talk about her body of work for Auckland Art Fair 2022, the flowers that have captured her attention in these paintings and why. “Flowers seem to be such a wonderful metaphor for the human spirit – the loud and gregarious say take me as I am, while the shady and quiet are just as happy going about their business.”

Join Sanderson Gallery Manager Anita Tótha and renowned artist Simon Kaan for a talk about his most recent, multi-panelled paintings presented for the 2021 Auckland Art Fair. Kaan is lauded for his serene and minimal seascapes, using symbols and features signifying more profound ideas – he discusses these, as well as the evolution of his practice and intention.
