Linda Tyler is the Associate professor of Art History at University of Auckland and will speak to Bill Hammonds powerful and deeply affecting work and legacy.
The talk coincides with an exhibition at the Art Fair of Bill Hammonds “Untitled (Wainui work)” a painting rescued from the walls of his batch in Banks Peninsula. For a quarter of a century the work sat silently unseen amongst the tree shadows, only Bill and his wife had seen the work. A major unseen masterpiece, presented at the Aotearoa Art Fair.
