GALLERIES
The main Gallery sector features solo and group exhibitions with a curated selection of works by both established and emerging artists, offering a diverse range of contemporary art by some of the most exciting names in contemporary art.

YOUNG GALLERIES & NEW COLLECTORS
The Young and New Collector sector supports emerging galleries, artist-run spaces, or established galleries that offer small scale works by artists at accessible prices, perfect for those looking to start an art collection.

WORKS ON PAPER
The Paper sector highlights contemporary works on paper, including drawings, watercolours, prints, artist books, and editions. This sector offers a diverse range of works, from traditional techniques to innovative approaches, showcasing the richness of the medium.
OPENING NIGHT
Opening Night is Auckland’s biggest art event of the year! Join us at the glittering Viaduct Harbourfront for the celebration. The hottest ticket in town, Opening Night is an evening dedicated to toasting Aotearoa’s vibrant art community.
INSTALLATIONS
Discover powerful and thought-provoking installations and sculptures throughout the Viaduct Events Centre by some of Aotearoa New Zealand’s most celebrated artists. Installations at the 2025 Fair included works by Professor Robert Jahnke, Brett Graham, Bill Culbert, and Tony Oursler.
LET’S TALK ART
A visitor favourite, the ‘Let’s Talk Art’ talks programme presented by Aon brings together 30 artists, designers, collectors, and thought leaders across nine engaging talks over three days. Talk capacity is limited and fill up fast, so make sure you arrive early!
AOTEAROA ART FAIR SCULPTURE TRAIL PRESENTED BY VIADUCT HARBOUR
From the 16 April until the 14 May 2024, Viaduct Harbour presents the Aotearoa Art Fair Sculpture Trail. Featuring a lineup of nine extraordinary artists pushing the boundaries of three-dimensional work on display throughout Viaduct Harbour. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to explore art in a whole new dimension.
ARTIST TALKS
Step into the creative process with our popular Artist Talk series, where artists share the stories, inspirations, and experiences behind their works. With a range of perspectives and personal insights, these talks offer a unique opportunity to connect with the minds behind the art on display.
PERFORMANCE ART
Captivating live performances take over Opening Night of the Aotearoa Art Fair. Blending movement, sound, and visual storytelling, performances activates the space and invites guests to experience art beyond the frame.
HORIZONS: EMERGING ARTIST SECTOR
Launched in 2025, Horizons is a new section of the Fair dedicated to spotlighting emerging artistic talent from across Aotearoa and the Pacific. Curated by Becky Hemus and proudly presented by Chapman Tripp, Horizons offers a fresh platform for the next generation of artists shaping the region’s creative future.
LOTUS HOUSE PARTY
Lotus Auckland brings you Lotus House Party — a curated space celebrating bold design, innovation, and craftsmanship. Echoing Lotus’s legacy of pushing boundaries on and off the track, Lotus House Party highlights objects that blur the lines between art and design, showcasing the work of leading and emerging creatives from across the region.
GUIDED TOURS
Join an art experts for a free guided tour of the Fair. Discover the stories behind key artworks, gain insider insights, and deepen your understanding of the pieces on display.
FAIR DINING
Browsing and buying art is hungry (and thirsty) work. With our wide range of food and beverage options, we’ve got you covered. The Aotearoa Art Fair offers two dining locations across the venue.
POP-UP BOOKSHOP
The pop-up art bookshop offers publications spanning art, design, architecture, fashion, and cultural commentary. The 2025 bookshop was hosted by Lamplight Books.
SQUIGGLA MAKING SPACE
Fun and hands-on for all ages, the Squiggla Making Space invites you to explore your imagination through playful, creative activities. Developed by The Chartwell Trust, this project encourages everyone to take part in visual thinking and making in a welcoming, accessible environment.
