Prue MacDougall is a Tāmaki Makaurau based artist with a wealth of experience in printmaking. Her signature style works often inhabit a world between myth, fantasy and reality. Prue will demonstrate hand printing one of her intaglio solar plates on an etching press, unveiling some of the mystery of this technique where modern image making methods meet tradition.

Nan Mulder is an internationally recognised expert in the mezzotint. This is a time consuming, but beautiful printmaking technique, whereby the artist scrapes and burnishes the image into a prepared ‘rocked’ copperplate, working from dark to the light. Nan talking through mezzo tint techniques while also providing insight and commentary on the value of collecting prints.
